FlickTide

how flicktide handles your data

Private by default. Shareable by choice. Public by intention.

One principle, applied everywhere. Here is what it means in practice.

the promises

Private unless you act

Your test results and collections are private unless you decide otherwise. Nothing you make becomes public without your action.

Guest results expire

Guest results live behind a secure link and expire after 7 days unless you save them to a free profile.

Unlisted means unlisted

Unlisted links are reachable only by people you give them to, and they are kept out of search engines.

Delete any time

You can delete your results and collections at any time.

No account required

The taste scan works without an account. As a guest it lives only for the current visit — close the browser and it's gone. A free profile saves it instead.

Sharing is your click

A result becomes reachable by link only when you click Share, and you can stop sharing at any time.

how your data is used

Your choices power your own results and, in aggregate, help FlickTide get better at taste discovery for everyone: things like surfacing hidden gems and, later, community tides and taste matching. Community insights are always aggregated and anonymized. Your private taste history stays private, and FlickTide never sells your data.

Collection stays light: an email for your account, your taste activity, and nothing else. No ad trackers.

services flicktide is built on

Supabase

data & sign-in

Stores FlickTide data and handles sign-in via email magic links. Your email is used only for sign-in.

TMDb

titles & posters

Provides title metadata and posters, served from FlickTide's own cache. Your individual choices are never sent to TMDb.

OpenAI

taste profiles only

Used only when you explicitly ask for a written taste profile. One request with ranked titles and taste coordinates — never your email — cached afterward. Nothing is sent during battles, calibration, or browsing.

This is the beta privacy summary; a formal privacy policy document will be published before public launch. Questions? Reach out through the support page.
